Benchmark methodology
LaneVault maps an SCY time to an estimated percentile band using the same fixed thresholds shown on these pages and in the LaneVault Swim Tracker web app. For a given age group, gender, and event, a lower time maps to a higher estimated percentile.
Benchmark set: LaneVault's estimated SCY thresholds, version 2024-cycle; last updated 2024-09-01. The benchmark set does not represent an official ranking, a complete swimmer census, or an official qualifying standard.
Tier boundaries are consistent across public pages and the web app: Elite is estimated 95th percentile or higher; Excellent 85th–94th; Above Average 70th–84th; Average 50th–69th; Developing 30th–49th; Beginner below 30th. These approximate estimates are informational only.
